Wage range: $25-35+/hr based on experience and certifications


Team Lead Carpenter

MWDC is seeking an experienced Team Lead Carpenter with 5-7 years of experience in construction, window and door installation, and the manufacturing industry. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team while working on various aspects of window, door, glass, hardware, trim, capping, and caulking installations. Reporting directly to the Installation Manager, the Team Lead Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed with the highest standards of customer service, quality, professionalism, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Train and supervise a team of Window and Door Installers and Carpenters, ensuring high standards of performance and productivity.
  • Project Management: Develop work plans and priorities for each installation project and coordinate with other trades as necessary.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the primary point of contact between the Installation Manager, customers, and the installation team.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in measurements, math, and calculations for all installations.
  • Safety & Productivity: Oversee the productivity and safety of the team on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards in physically demanding and varied environments.
  • Team Development: Lead by example, promoting flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm within the team.
  • Quality Control: Install and inspect products to meet company standards of excellence.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and report any additional materials or equipment needed for job sites.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete log books, project updates, reports, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor and report any Health and Safety concerns related to the installation team.
  • Mentorship & Motivation: Mentor the team, fostering a culture of professionalism, customer focus, and community engagement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Carpenter with 5-7 years of hands-on experience.
  • Exceptional carpentry skills, ranging from framing to fine trim work.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills, with attention to detail.
  • Valid Working at Heights Certificate.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.
